The Roasted Bean Company is based in Brighton and known officially as the home of coffee in the UK. In fact, they consume more cups of coffee per head than any other UK city.
Their approach to creating these flavourful blends is simple: they search high and low for the most responsibly grown, tastiest, quirkiest, green coffee beans available anywhere in the world.
Those beans are then delivered to the company in burlap sacks — green and ready for that first crack in the roasting process.
The Ethics Behind Roasted Bean Co.
The folks behind Roasted Bean Co have always roasted 100% Arabica beans and never Robusta and here’s why —
ARABICA is grown in cool subtropical climates (600-2000masl); the plant’s delicacy requires rich fertile soil, moisture, sun, and shade. They are susceptible to pest attack, suffer in the cold and don’t like bad handling.
ROBUSTA is a hardy plant. Capable of growing at low altitudes (200-800masl), pests tend to stay away because of their super high caffeine content and they yield more pounds of finished product per acre at a lower cost of production.
They roast carefully in small lots and regularly from their roastery in Brighton. Their coffees are always fresh and at their best, and the best part is that all coffees can be traced right back to the farmer.
What You Will Find Inside at Roasted Bean Co.
You can tell by the care that they put into each bag that they love the coffee roasting process. Their coffees are some of the best on the market and we are proud to be partnering with them this month in your Blue Coffee Box!
Not only do they sell to the public and the home consumer, but they also sell their coffees wholesale, so you can expect to see their coffees proudly displayed around the city in many shops.
They love to share their passion for coffee whether it’s in a coffee house, a coffee trader, a home consumer, or anything in-between — they can supply superb single origin roasts and outstanding blends.
They operate the Nomadic Cafe where they roast coffee, have cup tastings, teach others about the roasting process and offer a delicious menu filled with goodies (be sure and check out that beach box!)
If you have a barista that needs some one on one training, be sure and reach out to their staff. They offer training to make sure they know exactly how to brew and serve the perfect coffee.
You can find them on their website or Instagram.
